MIAMI BEACH, Fla. – Redshirt sophomore Frankie Harris paced the quartet of Gamecocks who competed in the coveted South Beach International Amateur with a top-10 finish. The Boca Raton, Fla, native shot 278 (-3) over the course of 72 holes.
The four-day event took place at Miami Beach Golf Club and Normandy Shores Golf Course. Harris posted three red numbers over the course of the event with an opening round 66 and a final round 68.
Harris led the team in the final with three top-25 finishes including his first career victory at the Daniel Island Intercollegiate (Oct. 29-31) in the team’s fall finale in the Lowcountry. He shot 209 (-7) over 54 holes to be crowned champion of the event.
Senior Rafe Reynolds also made the cut this week in South Beach. The Greenville, S.C., native shot 289 (+3) opening with a 67 in round one. He finished T-69th.
Sophomore Zach Adams and Gene Zeigler also competed this week but both missed the cut, which was 1-over. Adams shot 146 with rounds of 73 and 73. Zeigler shot 161 with scores of 80 and 81.
