KAILUA KONA, Hawaii – Three Huskies remain under-par and the Washington women’s golf team sits in fourth place and in contention for the Pac-12 Preview title after the second round of play on Tuesday at Nanea Golf Club.

“It was a very up and down day,” UW head coach Mary Lou Mulflur said. “We got off to a tough start, battled back and finished with a couple of birdies. I’m super proud of the fight in all of them.”

Jamie Hsieh fired the low UW score on the Big Island, as the junior from Taiwan recorded a three-under 70 round that saw four birdies and only one bogey. Hsieh jumped 13 spots on the leaderboard and is now three-under overall to land her tied for seventh and within striking distance of the individual leader.

Tied for tenth is Carmen Lim, as she continued to rack up birdies on her scorecard with four on the day to keep her one-under through two rounds of play. Also sitting at one-under overall is Vivian Lu, who golfed a two-over 75 for the Huskies. Lu’s scorecard saw two birdies as she concluded round two neck and neck with Lim.

Camille Boyd shot three-over on the day and is five-over after the second round of the tournament. Joining Boyd at five-over is Stefanie Deng, who holed four birdies to keep her situated in the middle of the pack.

“We have a great opportunity to make a move tomorrow with some smart play and continued commitment to what we are doing,” Mulflur mentioned.

The third and final round of the Pac-12 Preview is set to commence Wednesday morning at Nanea Golf Club.
