Hall in First; #7 Vols Tied Fifth Through One Round at Cabo Collegiate


CABO SAN LUCAS, Mexico – Tennessee redshirt senior Jake Hall is in sole possession of first place through round one at the Cabo Collegiate.

Hall fired a bogey-free 4-under 67 and holds a one-stroke lead ahead of Monday’s round.

The Knoxville native led the field in par four scoring at 2-under and was the only golfer to have a bogey-free round.

As a team, Tennessee sits 4-over and tied for fifth place with Stanford and California.

Laurent Desmarchais provided UT with its second-best round of the day, a 2-over 73. The junior posted two birdies on Sunday and enters the second round tied for 34th.

Bryce Lewis and Lance Simpson gave Tennessee their final counting rounds of the day after shooting 3-over 74s. The duo enters moving day tied for 42nd.

Evan Woosley-Reed shot a 5-over 77 in the opening round and is tied for 66th.
