Hannah Harrison Records Hole-In-One in Day One at Silicon Valley Showcase


MILLBRAE, Calif. (March 11, 2024) – Washington State women’s golf finished day one of the Silicon Valley Showcase in sixth place at 42-over, 610 through 32 holes at the par-71 Green Hills Country Club.

Individually, freshman Alice Johansson leads the Cougs, currently in a tie for 12th at 6-over, 148 after the first two rounds of the tournament. After a trio of double bogeys in the first round put her at 7-over to start the day, she roared back in the second round, scattering five birdies, including four over her final six holes for a 1-under, 70 finish in round two.

Junior Madelyn Gamble is 15th in the 59-player field at 7-over, 149. She was even through the first eight holes in round one, before four bogeys down the stretch put her at 4-over, 75 going into round two where she finished at 3-over, 74 behind a pair of birdies.

Junior Emily Cadwell sits tied for 34th at 14-over, 156. She birdied the 18th hole in her 8-over, 79 round one, and added two more birdies in the second round as she finished 6-over with a score of 77.

In her second round of the day, sophomore Hannah Harrison recorded a hole-in-one on hole four, and is tied for 40th at 15-over, 157. She birdied her first hole of the day and rode that momentum to a 4-over, 75 in round one. She couldn’t find the same consistency in round two, recording six bogeys and a pair of double-bogeys before mixing in an ace on her fourth-to-last hole of the day for a round-two score of 11-over, 82.

Junior Sarah Skovgaard-Bils was the final golfer in the scoring group, finishing tied for 54th at 25-over, 167. She parred six holes in her 14-over, 85 round one performance, and added a birdie and six more pars in the second round, going 11-over (82).

Freshman Sara Piñeros played as an individual, and sits in 53rd at 23-over, 165. She parred her first hole of the day and scattered eight more holes for par to end round one at 10-over, 81. Piñeros finished round two at 13-over, 84 with a birdie on her fifth hole and six pars throughout the rest of the round.

The Cougars continue at the Silicon Valley Showcase tomorrow with round three teeing off at 8:30 a.m. PT.
