Men’s Golf Through Opening Two Rounds at The Johnnie-O at Sea Island

ST. SIMONS ISLAND, Ga. – Jake Griffin and Patrick Sheehan are pacing the Penn State men’s golf team through the opening two rounds of The Johnnie-O at Sea Island as the first day of competition concluded Monday at the Sea Island Plantation Course.
 
Penn State sits 12th in the strong 14-team field through 36 holes at 4-over, 580. The Nittany Lions shot a 4-over, 292, in the morning round Monday before carding an even 288 as a team in the second round.
 
Jake Griffin leads the way for Penn State, sitting in a tie for 23rd place at an even 144. He carded a 2-under, 70, in the first round and a 2-over, 74, in the second round.
 
Patrick Sheehan follows closely behind at 1-over, 145, and in a tie for 29th place. Sheehan shot a 2-over, 74, in the first round, but moved up 20 spots on the individual leaderboard in the second round with a 1-under, 71.
 
Zach Smith and Jimmy Meyers both sit at 3-over, 147, and in a tie for 49th place through the first 36 holes. Billy Pabst Jr. is tied for 76th at 8-over, 152.
 
The Johnnie-O at Sea Island concludes Tuesday with the third and final round. Live scoring will be available via GolfStat.
