Women’s Golf Places Eighth in Arizona


The University of Missouri women’s golf team wrapped up the MountainView Collegiate on Sunday afternoon, finishing eighth of 15 schools.

The Tigers rounded out a total team score of 869 over the course of the three-day, 54-hole tournament, recording a final-round score of 291 (+5).

Fleur van Beek (71-75-71) finished the tournament tied for 23rd with a final score of 217 over the three days. Adding two rounds under par in this tournament, van Beek has carded six of the last nine rounds under par. 

With two strong rounds, Addie Dobson tied her career-best tournament score of 218. Her performance was highlighted by her first round 2-under 70 score and second round eagle. 

Only one stroke behind their teammate, Dobson (70-71-77), Ffion Tynan (75-73-70) and Melanie Walker (76-69-73) finished tied for 27th with a final score of 218. Emily Staples rounded out the lineup with a 54-hole score of 230.

No. 42 South Florida claimed the team title with a final tally of 848 (-16), followed by No. 17 Texas A&M, No. 33 Houston, No. 6 Arkansas and No. 47 Iowa State.

The Tigers return to action for the last regular season tournament at the Georgia-hosted event, Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic, that runs from March 29-30 in Athens, Georgia.
