Vanderbilt Women's Golf | Closing the Regular Season

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Vanderbilt women’s golf travels to Sunset, S.C., this weekend to compete in its regular season finale at the Clemson Invitational. Hosted at The Reserve at Lake Keowee, the three-day, 54-hole event tees off Friday and plays at 6,441 yards and par 72.

This weekend will be the seventh time the Commodores have competed in the Clemson Invitational, finishing in eighth place last year and winning the tournament in 2019.

“It’s really hard to believe this is our final regular season tournament,” said head coach Greg Allen. “It seems like we just started.”

The Commodores tune up for postseason play this weekend with five WGCA-ranked teams in the 16-team field. No. 22-ranked Vanderbilt will compete against five SEC foes— No. 5 LSU, No. 12 Ole Miss, No. 17 Texas A&M, Kentucky and Tennessee— along with No. 18-ranked host Clemson, Augusta, Furman, Louisville, Maryland, Miami, Michigan State, Ohio State, UNC-Wilmington and Virginia Tech.

2023 SEC Freshman of the Year Lynn Lim leads the Vanderbilt lineup this weekend. Ava Merrill, Tillie Claggett, Celina Sattelkau, and Virginie Ding round out the rest of the Commodores’ crew at Clemson. The Dores have used this lineup three times this season, most recently playing together at the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate earlier this month. Freshman Macie Brown will also compete as an individual.

“The girls looked really good today in the practice round and we’ve really put in some strong work the past couple weeks,” said Allen. “Now it’s just a matter of going out and doing our thing and trusting that the hard work will pay off.”

The Dores open the Clemson Invitational in a 9 a.m. ET/8 a.m. CT shotgun start on Friday. Live scoring for the event can be found on Golfstat.
