Penn State Through Opening Day of Seahawk Intercollegiate

Seahawk Intercollegiate Day One Results
 
WILMINGTON, N.C. – The Penn State men’s golf team completed the first round and three quarters of the second round on the opening day of the Seahawk Intercollegiate at the Country Club of Landfall’s Nicklaus Course Sunday.
 
Penn State finished the first round at 21-over, 309, to sit 11th in the 16-team race following the opening round, and the Nittany Lions are currently 12th through the completed holes of the second round.  All five Nittany Lions have made it through 11 holes of the second round, which will conclude Monday along with the third and final round.
 
Jimmy Meyers led the Nittany Lions in the opening round with a 4-over, 76, to sit tied for 24th. Patrick Sheehan and Billy Pabst Jr. both shot a 5-over, 77, in the first round to sit tied for 38th.
 
Jake Griffin was tied for 62nd following the opening round with a 7-over, 79. Zach Smith shot a 9-over, 81, and was tied for 76th following the first round.
 
Teams will conclude the second round Monday before completing the event with the third and final round. Live scoring will continue to be available via GolfStat.
