Men’s Golf Heading to The Goodwin


PULLMAN, Wash. (March 27, 2024) – The Washington State men’s golf team is back in action this week to play in The Goodwin hosted by Stanford in San Francisco, California from Thursday Mar. 28 to Saturday, Mar. 30.

The Course and Tournament Format

The Goodwin will be held at TPC Harding Park. The course will play as a par-70 at 7,193 yards. Teams will play 18 holes each Thursday, Friday and Saturday with rolling tee times beginning at 7 a.m.

In addition to Washington State and host Stanford, the rest of the 31-team field includes Appalachian State, Brigham Young, California, California Baptist, Cal Poly, Clemson, Colorado, Georgia Tech, Georgia, Howard, Lipscomb, Little Rock, Long Beach State, Oregon, Oregon State, Pepperdine, San Diego State, San Diego, San Jose State, Santa Clara, TCU, Tennessee, UC Davis, UCLA, Nevada, Southern California, San Francisco, Utah and Utah Tech.

Last Time Out

WSU placed third at the GCU Invitational on Mar. 13, finishing at 10-under, 842 on the par-71, 7,239-yard GCU Golf Course. The Cougs ended day one in third at 10-under, 558 through 36 holes, behind an 8-under, 276 performance from Sam Renner who sat in second place individually through two rounds of play. WSU ended the tournament with an even 284 in the final round, with Preston Bebich shooting a 3-under 68.

Head Coach Dustin White is in his eighth season leading his alma mater. The 2023-24 Cougar squad, which returns nine members from last season, looks to build of the 2023 campaign which saw WSU post its best showing at a Pac-12 Championship, finishing in a tie for third. The Cougars also made a return to postseason play competing in the 2023 National Golf Invitational Championship, only the second time in program history that WSU has played in a postseason tournament, and first since the 2002 NCAA West Regional. The Cougars finished in a tie for sixth at the NGI.
