KemperSports bolsters leadership team with three new hires

KemperSports has added Jim Boedecker, Alex Goodman and Ryan Phelps to its leadership team.

Boedecker will serve as senior vice president of Golf Strategy and Growth. He brings more than 20 years of experience in golf and sports marketing, including leadership roles at Outlyr, IMG Worldwide and Intersport. Highlights of his career include developing marketing programs for brands such as Cadillac and JP Morgan Chase as well as handling sales and marketing for more than 100 PGA Tour, LPGA, European Tour and Champions Tour players.

In this role, Boedecker will be responsible for leveraging KemperSports’ portfolio of properties and assets to create new revenue streams for the company while also developing new lines of business in and around golf, sports and hospitality.

“Over the last two decades, Jim has positioned himself as a leader in the golf and marketing space,” said KemperSports CEO Steve Skinner. “His passion for golf and his ability to connect brands and organizations that drive business goals will be a tremendous asset to the KemperSports family.”

Goodman joins the company as senior vice president of New Business Development. He spent the last seven years in sales and partnership roles with Topgolf Callaway Brands; his most recent position was senior national director of sales, where he oversaw the growth of their Toptracer Range Technology. In that role he drove significant growth while securing partnerships with some of the North America’s leading clubs, courses and resorts.

In his new role, Goodman will spearhead KemperSports’ growth initiatives, such as expanding its roster of managed and leased daily-fee courses, private clubs and destination resorts.

“I’ve always admired the great people and culture of service that KemperSports has stood for the last 40 years,” Goodman said. “I look forward to joining the dynamic and veteran team and continuing their unprecedented growth.”

Phelps joins KemperSports as vice president of Operations. He has 20 years of experience in the golf industry, having started as a PGA Professional and general manager on Long Island and Cape Cod, then progressing his career to ultimately oversee more than 40 properties across five states in the northeast.
