Birdies for Babies Reaches $12,000 in Earnings

DURHAM – As the Duke men’s and women’s golf programs prepare to participate in NCAA Regional action, the Birdies for Babies program has reached the $12,333.45 earnings for the 2023-24 campaign.  The program supports the kids at the Duke Children’s Neonatal and Pediatric Intensive Care Units. 
 
If you have not donated yet for the season, there is still time to help the kids at the Duke Children’s Hospital.  One-time donations and pledges are both available. 
 
So far this season, Duke has raised $12,333.45 and has now brought in an impressive $120,136.95 over the seven years since the program was established. 
 
If you are interested in supporting Duke’s partnership with Duke Children’s, you can pledge for each birdie made during the season or make a one-time donation.  Pledges start at $0.50 and higher increments are welcome.  If the Blue Devils register an eagle (counts as two birdies), albatross (three birdies) or hole-in-one (four birdies), they will count as stated.
 
The men’s program awaits the NCAA selection show on May 1 at 2 p.m., live on the Golf Channel to find out where they will be sent.  The women’s team is heading to Cle Elum, Wash., for the NCAA Regional May 6-8, which will be played at Tumblecreek Club.
