USC Women’s Golf Catherine Park Named to ANNIKA Award Final Watch List

Women’s Golf | May 10, 2024

COLUMBUS, Ga. – USC women’s golf sophomore Catherine Park joins ten of the best golfers in the country as she represents the Women of Troy on the ANNIKA Award presented by Stifel Final Watch List, the Haskins Foundation announced Friday, May 10.

Created in 2014, the ANNIKA Award, presented by Stifel, is annually given to the top female Division 1 collegiate golfers, players, coaches, and members of the college golf media vote on the winner. Named for Annika Sorenstam, the award was created in partnership with the Haskins Foundation to acknowledge the top female golfer.

By being named to the final watch list, Park will join her fellow golfers on the final voting ballot for the award. Voting will take place starting today and will conclude with the completion of the stroke play portion of the NCAA Championship on Monday, May 20th.

Park has been sensational throughout the season but has found a new gear towards the latter half. During this season, the sophomore has posted three wins and seven top-ten finishes. Park has won two individual titles in her last three tournaments and placed tied for fifth in her latest result at the NCAA East Lansing Regional. Her three wins this season are at the Stanford Intercollegiate (Oct. 22), the Silverado Showdown (Apr. 10) and the Pac-12 Championship (Apr. 23). Her three wins this season ties her with her teammate Amari Avery (2022) and Alumni Sophia Popov (2011) for the fourth most in a season in program history.

Park became the seventh player in USC history to claim the Pac-12 Individual Title at the conference tournament. The sophomore was also the first USC player to win the individual title since 2013 (Annie Park).

Park currently leads the team with a 70.52 stroke average. If that mark holds up, she is on pace to break the single-season mark set by Annie Park in 2013 (71.36). Park also boasts nine top-25 and seven top-ten finishes. The sophomore recently tied the single-season mark for par or better rounds as she is tied with Annie Park (2014) at 22.

According to the Scoreboard Clippd rankings, the sophomore is ranked No. 5 in the NCAA Division I Women’s Individual Rankings. Park is also ranked No. 13th in the World Amateur Golf Rankings.
