Huss heads into second round of NCAA Championships in top-15


CARLSBAD, Calif. – After 18 holes at the 2024 NCAA DI Men’s National Championship, Cameron Huss is tied for 13th place after shooting a 72 (E).

The Wisconsin senior is one of over 150 golfers competing in the championship at the Omni La Costa Resort & Spa. Huss qualified for the tournament after finishing five-under par at the NCAA Regional tournament in West Lafayette. In a three-way tie after regulation, the Kenosha, Wisconsin, native won the sudden-death playoff stretching into five holes to earn his first career qualification to the national tournament. 

All 30 teams and six individuals will complete 54 holes from Friday to Sunday. The top 15 teams and the top nine individuals not on those advancing teams will advance for one additional day of stroke play on Monday to determine the top eight teams for match play competition and the individual champion after 72 holes.

Round 1

Huss made par in the opening round of the tournament, placing him tied for 13th place.

The recipient of the 2024 Big Ten Medal of Honor, Huss recorded three birdies throughout the first round, all of which came in the back nine.
