#5 Vols Through Two Rounds at NCAA Regional


CARLSBAD, Calif. – The fifth-ranked Tennessee men’s golf team concluded round two at the NCAA Championships Saturday.

The Vols shot 4-over in round two and await results from teams in the afternoon wave to see where they stand ahead of round three.  

Lance Simpson and Bryce Lewis provided UT with a pair of 1-under 71s during Saturday’s round.

Simpson is 4-over through 36 holes and currently the highest Vol on the leaderboard.

Lewis started his round at 2-over but quickly flipped the switch after the turn and played his final nine holes at 3-under.

He enters Sunday’s round 5-over overall.

Evan Woosley-Reed, Bruce Murphy and Jake Hall shot 75s in the second round.

Woosley-Reed enters round three at 5-over, Murphy is currently 7-over and Hall is 11-over ahead of day three.

Bryce Lewis, 78-71–149 (+5)

Evan Woosley-Reed, 74-75–149 (+5)

Bruce Murphy, 76-75–151 (+7)

Jake Hall, 80-75–155 (+10)
