Spartans Add Amelie Weber to Roster for 2024-25 Season


East Lansing, Mich. – Michigan State head women’s golf coach Stacy Slobodnik-Stoll announced the addition of Amelie Weber to the roster for the 2024-25 season.

A native of Switzerland, Weber joins the Spartans after playing for two seasons at Georgia State.

“We are very excited to welcome Amelie to Michigan State and to our program,” Slobodnik-Stoll said. “She comes to East Lansing with two strong years of play at the D1 college level and has extensive experience on the international level while playing in Switzerland. We know Amelie will be a great addition to our team and we are very excited to welcome her to the Spartan Family.”

While at Georgia State, Weber was a two-year letterwinner for the Panthers, carrying a 74.75 scoring average in 36 career rounds. She posted a pair of top-10 finishes last year and has eight career top-25 finishes.

Weber played in eight tournaments for the Panthers during the 2023-24 season, with two top-10 finishes and five among the top-25. She shot an even-par 216 (73-72-71) at the UNCG Intercollegiate and finished in sixth place in October and closed out the Fall with a 2-over par 218 (75-71-72) at the Mercer Invitational, tying for ninth place.

Overall, Weber led the team with a 73.86 scoring average through 22 rounds, including eight rounds below par. She had a first-round scoring average of 74.40 and a final-round average of 73.00.

Weber earned numerous academic honors as well, with a spot on the Dean’s List in 2022, earning a spot on the President’s List twice (Fall 2023, Spring 2023) and the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll (Spring 2024).

A native of Laufen, Basel-land in Switzerland, Weber has extensive experience on the international scene. She placed second in the Women’s Swiss Open Championship in 2021-22, won the Swiss Junior Championship for U18 Girls, came in second at the Swiss National Championship and won the Swiss Golf East title. In addition, she was a member of the Swiss Girls National Team in 2022 and represented Switzerland at the European Team Championship in Iceland.
