Cox Shoots Career Best Nine-Under 207
DALY CITY – California freshman Trevor Cox shot a career best nine-under par 207 Tuesday, ending in a tie for fifth place, his highest finish since finishing in 25th place at the Preserve Golf Club Collegiate earlier this season. After shooting a career low 6-under 66 in round one, Cox shot 3-under par in the final round.
After shooting a 4-under 68 in round two, redshirt-sophmore Sihao Cong shot a 3-under 69 in the final round ending the day in a tie for 13th place. Fellow teammate Xihuan Chang also recorded a top-20 finish, shooting a one-under 212.
The Bears shot an 18-under 846, finishing in a tie for third place, their best finish of the season.
Arizona State won the team title at 39 under par, while SMU’s Ben Steinmann and Arizona State’s Pongsapak Laopakdee tied for the individual title at 13-under par.
Next up, the Bears head to the Goodwin on March 26-28 at Stanford Golf Course.
