Arizona Stands in Middle of The Pack Headed Into Final Round of The Western Intercollegiate


With round two complete at the Western Intercollegiate, the Arizona Wildcats men’s golf team now sits in sixth place at 2-under par overall. USC leads at 16-under par but the Wildcats are just two shots behind third place.

Leading the charge for Arizona is Taishi Moto, who continues his stellar play and now sits at 6-under par after a second-round 69 (-1). Moto is now tied for fourth with 18 holes left to play. Zach Pollo delivered one of the best rounds of the day for the Wildcats, firing a 67 (-3) to climb to 3-under overall. Pollo is now inside the top ten individually. 

Tianyi Xiong added a solid round of 69 (-1) and now sits at 1-under overall. Defending champion Filip Jakubcik faced a tougher second round, posting a 74 (+2) and moving to 3-over for the tournament. 

Connor Hamm also battled through a challenging round, carding a 76 (+4) to sit at 5-over overall, while William Wistrand posted a 78 (+6) and is now at 9-over for the tournament.

Arizona will tee off at 10:16am MST for the final round from Pasatiempo GC. Coverage will air at 4pm MST on Golf Channel.
