Zhou leads Cal With a 5-under Par 65 at the Western Intercollegiate
Zhou Shoots A 5-Under 65 To Lead Cal
SANTA CRUZ – California men’s golf fell one spot to second place on the leaderboard Tuesday after Round 2 of the Western Intercollegiate. After shooting a 7-under par 343 in Round 1, the Bears shot a 5-under 345 in Round 2, ending the day four shots back of USC for the lead.
Sophomore Ziqin Zhou had his second lowest round of the season, shooting a 5-under 65, ending the day with a two day total of 3-under par 137, tied for eighth place. Redshirt junior Charlie Bundy shot a 2-under 68 for the second consecutive day, ending Round 2 in a tie for sixth place, the highest Cal player on the leaderboard.
After leading Cal with a 4-under 66 in Round 1, freshman Trevor Cox shot a 1-over 71 Tuesday, ending the day in a tie for eighth place with Zhou. Two other Bears ended the day in the top 25 as senior Daniel Heo and redshirt sophomore Sihao Cong both carded a 1-over par 71 in Round 2. Cong currently sits in a tie for 19th place at 1-under par (139), while Heo sits at a tie for 24th place at even par (140).
The Bears will conclude the tournament tomorrow.
