Zhou Shot a 1-Over Par 72 Tuesday in the NCAA Columbus Regional
Cal Has 2 Players Tied For 20th Individually
COLUMBUS, Ohio – California men’s golf found itself in ninth place Tuesday after Round 2 of the NCAA Columbus Regionalas the Golden Bears shot a 16-over par after shooting 12-over par Monday. Sophomore Ziqin Zhou led Cal with a 1-over 72 in the second round, ending the day in a tie for 20th place with his teammate Daniel Heo. After an opening-round even par 71, Heo shot 5-over par Tuesday.
Redshirt sophomore Sihao Cong struggled, shooting a 7-over par 78, while redshirt junior Charlie Bundy shot a 6-over 77, and freshman Trevor Cox carded a 4-over par 75.
The Bears will conclude the three-day 54-hole tournament tomorrow, with the top-five teams and the low individual not on an advancing team qualifying to the NCAA Championships at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad on May 29-June 3.
