North Carolina shot 5 over par Friday in the first round of the 2026 NCAA Women’s Golf Championship on the North Course at the Omni La Costa Resort and Spa in Carlsbad, Calif.
The Tar Heels are in 19th place in the 30-team field. Southern California is the leader at 7-under 281, one stroke ahead of Stanford.
Reagan Southerland led UNC with an even-par 72. Helen Yeung and Marie Prats-Rigual were 1 over (73), Megan Streicher was 3 over (75) and Ing Iadpluem carded a 77.
Stanford’s Meghan Ganne and Oklahoma State’s Ellie Bushnell are the individual co-leaders after shooting 4-under-par 68s.
Round 2 is Saturday.
