Blue Devils Set to Play in Darius Rucker Intercollegiate


DURHAM – The Duke women’s golf team will head to the beach once again as the Blue Devils get set to compete in the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate Feb. 27 through March 1 at the Long Cove Club in Hilton Head, S.C.

Seeing action this week along with Duke will be Alabama, Arizona State, Arkansas, Auburn, Baylor, Furman, Georgia, Kentucky, LSU, Northwestern, Oregon, South Carolina, Texas, Vanderbilt, Virginia and Wake Forest.

All teams will play 54 holes with 18 contested each day.  

Duke will field a lineup of senior Erica Shepherd, senior Megan Furtney, junior Phoebe Brinker, sophomore Rylie Heflin and freshman Andie Smith.

The Golf Channel will feature live coverage from 2:30-5:30 p.m., all three days during the event.  

The Blue Devils will open action on Monday in the first round beginning at 9:20 a.m., along with Arizona State and Kentucky off hole No. 1.  Live scoring will be available via www.GolfStat.com.
