Sophomore Jackson Rivera turned in his team-best seventh round in the 60s to highlight the USC men’s golf team’s final-round efforts at The Goodwin at TPC Harding Park on Saturday (April 1).

The Trojans began and finished the day in seventh, closing play at 6-over 846 (287-274-285). Oklahoma won the event at 18-under, one of just three teams in the 28-team tournament that finished under par.

Rivera finished as USC’s low player for the fourth time and for the second time in a row, tying for 16th at even 210 (73-69-68).

He opened with nine pars before birdies on 10 and 12. He eagled 16 to offset bogeys on 13 and 17 en route to his two-under and his third top 20 finish this season.

Freshman Mahanth Chirravuri tied for 24th at 1-over 211 (69-70-72). It’s his team-best sixth top 25 finish.

Sophomore Gavin Aurilia tied for 40th at 3-over 213 (70-70-73), junior Krando Nishiba tied for 95th at 10-over 220 (75-65-80) and senior Jack Boulger tied for 124th at 13-over 223 (75-76-72).

USC concludes the regular season at the Western Intercollegiate, April 10-12, at the Pasatiempo G.C. in Santa Cruz, Calif.
