DURHAM – The Duke men’s golf team wraps up the fall portion of the schedule in the upcoming days, with the team participating in the Cal Poly Invitational while three individuals compete at the Bryan National Collegiate.
The Cal Poly Invitational, played on Oct. 30 and 31, is held at The Preserve in Carmel Valley, Calif. The course has been named by Golf Digest both as one of America’s 100 Greatest Golf Courses and the best course in California for 13 successive years. The par-72 course is set to play at 7,041 yards for the event.
The Blue Devils, who are currently tied for 23rd nationally in the latest Bushnell/Golfweek Division I Coaches Poll are one of 15 teams in the field. They join the hosts, Cal Poly, along with California, Colorado State, Jacksonville, Northwestern, No. 25 Ohio State, No. 19 Oregon, Oregon State, San Diego, San Francisco, SMU, Toledo, UCLA and USC.
Duke starts a lineup of Luke Sample, Ian Siebers, Bryan Kim, Kelly Chinn and Daniel Choi. The first round utilizes a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. PT, with continuous play for the second round, with live scoring available on Golfstat. Third-round pairings will be announced following the conclusion of the first day of play.
In Greensboro, N.C., three Duke individuals are slated to begin play on Oct. 29. The trio of Ethan Evans, Daniel Uranga and John Peters will be in action at the Bryan Park Champions Course. The par-72 course is playing at 7,255 yards and 18 holes are scheduled to be played on each of the three days. Live scoring is available on Golfstat.
