Leigha Devine to Compete in Prestigious US Women's Amateur

UNIVERSITY PLACE, Wash. — Rutgers golfer Leigha Devine is set to compete in the prestigious U.S. Women’s Amateur this week, with play starting on Monday afternoon at Chambers Bay Golf Course in Washington.

The tournament will be two rounds of stroke play on Monday and Tuesday, with the low 64 scorers moving on to match play later in the week. The Round of 64 takes place on Wednesday and the event culminates with the 36-hole Championship Match on Sunday.

Devine will tee off on Monday at 12:12 p.m. ET and at 5:12 p.m. ET on Tuesday. She qualified for the event after shooting a -3 (69) and finishing in second place in the qualifying event at Colorado National Golf Club in June.

“The US Women’s Amateur is another great opportunity for Leigha to compete amongst the best golfers in the country.” head coach Kari Williams said. “She has worked tirelessly to develop her game and we have seen her progress showcased at several top events this summer. We are all excited to see what Leigha can do out at Chambers Bay, an incredible course and challenging test of golf.”
