CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – The 2022-23 PGA TOUR schedule officially tees off this week with a pair of Illini alums looking for strong starts to the new campaign, while the PGA TOUR Champions schedule continues with stalwart Steve Stricker in action.

PGA TOUR

Nick Hardy enters his second year on the PGA Tour in 2022-23 and will be in action this week at the Fortinet Championship at Silverado Resort and Spa in Napa, Calif.

Hardy secured his card earlier this month with a 10th-place finish in The Finals 25 standings of the Korn Ferry Tour playoff. Last year, Hardy was a rookie on the PGA Tour after earning his 2021-22 card thanks to a top-25 finish in the Korn Ferry Tour’s regular-season standings.

Hardy is joined by former Illini teammate Thomas Detry, a mainstay on the DP World Tour since 2017, who begins his rookie campaign on the PGA Tour. Detry finished 17th in The Finals 25 standings to earn his card.

Detry is coming off of a stellar showing last week at the DP World Tour’s BMW PGA Championship where he carded rounds of 68-65-69 to finish three shots out of first place in a tie for fifth at 14-under.

PGA TOUR Champions

The PGA Tour Champions 2022 schedule rolls on to Sioux Falls, S.D. this week at the Sanford International hosted at Minnehaha Country Club.

Stricker, continues to impress coming off of a third-place showing at the Ascension Charity Classic in St. Louis this past weekend, and is just two weeks removed from winning The Ally Challenge at Warwick Hills in Grand Blanc, Mich., Aug. 26-28.

Since returning to the PGA Tour Champions in May after an extended absence due to illness, the 12-time PGA Tour winner has played in 10 events with two victories, plus three additional runner-up finishes to secure eight total top-10s during that span.
