Maryland to Play in Barbara Nicklaus Cup at Historic Muirfield Village


DUBLIN, OH – The Maryland women’s golf team will travel to Ohio this week to play in the Barbara Nicklaus Cup hosted by Big Ten foe Ohio State University.
 
Over the two-day tournament (Oct 3-4), Maryland will play the par-72 Muirfield Village Golf Club, designed by Jack Nicklaus. The tournament will consist of 54-holes of play (36-holes Monday, 18-holes Tuesday) beginning at 8:00 a.m. on both days in a shotgun format. The field will play from 6,362 yards.
 
The Terrapins will be led by junior Patricie Mackova, freshman Nicha Kanpai, senior Maria Vittoria Corbi, freshman AnPhi Le, and senior Angela Garvin.
 
“We are really excited to head to historic Muirfield Village for the Barbara Nicklaus Cup hosted by Ohio State,” said head coach Kelly Hovland. “It is a great field on a championship course, and I think this lineup is ready to compete. Our success starts with us, so if we control what we can control, it should be a great week!”
 
Participants in the invitational include host Ohio State and Wisconsin from the Big Ten Conference. Other participants include Colorado, Furman, Notre Dame, Ohio State, TCU, and Tulsa.
