Rivera, Chirravuri Pace USC To Close Out Ben Hogan Collegiate

Sophomore Jackson Rivera carded a tournament-best par round and finished tied with freshman Mahanth Chiravvuri at 6-over to lead the USC men’s golf team in the final round Tuesday (Oct. 4) at the Ben Hogan Collegiate Invitational at the Colonial C.C. in Fort Worth, Texas.

The Trojans finished 16th at 31-over 891 (293-290-288). North Carolina led wire-to-wire to win by nine strokes at 15-under.

Chirravuri (71-72-73), who led USC in its previous event in Ohio, co-led USC with Rivera (72-74-70) at 6-over 216.

For Rivera, today’s round was his fourth round of par or better this season. He had three birdies on the day. Chirravuri had four.

Nishiba, in his second start this fall, tied for 60th at 9-over 219 (75-70-74).

Sophomore Gavin Aurilia tied for 65th at 10-over 220 (75-74-71) and Parker Sisk was 80th at 23-over 233 (78-76-79).

USC is off for a couple weeks before returning to action Oct. 21-23 at the Golf Club of Georgia Intercollegiate in Alpharetta, Ga.
