Kozlowski Pushes Boilermakers Up the Leaderboard

WILMINGTON, N.C. – Three Boilermakers carded rounds of par-or-better Saturday at the Country Club of Landfall, and Ashley Kozlowski’s 3-under 69 led Purdue Women’s Golf on moving day at the Landfall Tradition.

The Boilermakers climbed the leaderboard into a tie for eighth alongside Tennessee, shooting 290 (+2) as a team for a two-stroke improvement from the opening round.

Kozlowski made four birdies throughout her day, committing one bogey to secure her lowest round of the season. Starting on the back nine, she bounced back from a bogey at No. 14 with birdies at the 17th and 18th to make the turn in red figures. The Littleton, Colorado, native birdied the par-3 second before adding another at the par-4 fourth, a streak of four birdies in six holes. Kozlowski parred her final five holes to end the day at 3-under and move 36 spots up the leaderboard.

Danielle du Toit fired a 71 (-1) for the second straight day, another under-par round that pushed her into the top 20 (T-16). The senior birdied three of her first four holes to start out on fire. While she made a bogey at the 15th, she got the stroke back on No. 18 to make the turn at 3-under. Through 36 holes, du Toit leads the field in par-3 scoring, playing the short holes 2-under.

Pacing the Boilermakers through the first two rounds is Momo Sugiyama (-4), tied for sixth on the individual leaderboard following an even-par 72 on Saturday. The sophomore countered two bogeys with two birdies, while parring 14 holes to put together another solid round.

Jocelyn Bruch added a 78 (+6) to contribute to the team score. The Carmel, Indiana, native played great golf throughout most of the day, making three birdies and playing 17 holes 2-under. Unfortunately, she ran into trouble with the water hazard at the par-3 second.

The Boilermakers wrap up their fall season Sunday morning, teeing off alongside Michigan (+5) and Tennessee (+6). The shotgun start has Purdue beginning on holes 7-9 at 8:45 a.m. ET.
