Boilermakers Wrap Up Play in Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS – Purdue Women’s Golf concluded competing at Spanish Trail Country Club in Las Vegas. The Boilermakers placed 10th in The Show, finishing 25-over as a team (296-297-296—889) following 54 holes of play.

Purdue made 186 pars throughout The Show, leading the field. However, the Boilermakers could not make enough birdies as No. 6 Mississippi State claimed the team title at 9-under.

After leading Purdue through the first day in the desert, Jocelyn Bruch remained the low Boilermaker in the lineup. The redshirt-sophomore tied for 31st, just two places away from matching her career-best performance. Bruch parred 42 of the 54 holes, more than any other golfer in the field of 87. She shot a final round 76 (+4) to end her tournament at 6-over.

Danielle du Toit and Momo Sugiyama produced Purdue’s best final rounds, each firing a 73 (+1). The pair of Boilermakers remained tied on the individual leaderboard, just like after the first two rounds, and placed 34th. Sugiyama was close behind Bruch with 41 pars of her own, including 15 during the final round.

Reigning Big Ten Golfer of the Week Ashley Kozlowski recorded a team-high seven birdies over three rounds, while tying for 42nd at 8-over. Back-to-back birdies at the 12th and 13th moved her to 2-under through her first seven holes of the final round, but the junior ran into trouble down the stretch and settled for a 75 (+3).

Kan Bunnabodee matched Kozlowski with a final round 75 (+3). The 2022 First Team All-B1G golfer birded her first two holes of the day and followed with six straight pars. She finished with five pars and five bogeys after the hot start.

Following back-to-back tournaments to begin the spring, the Boilermakers have a month off before getting back in action. Purdue returns to the course for the FSU Match Up in Tallahassee, Florida (March 17-19), the first of three straight weekends of competition.
