» With a closing 291 team total, No. 33 Michigan recorded an 855 (-9) 54-hole total to tie for seventh with three other teams at the Moon Golf Invitational played at the Suntree Country Club.

» For the second straight week, Hailey Borja paced the Wolverines with a top-10 finish. She tied for tenth with a 210 (71-69-70, -6) tally — the second-lowest 54-hole total of the season.

» Monet Chun’s tie for 17th (70-69-73/212, -4) marked her third top-20 finish of the season.

» Lauren Sung fired a career and team season-low 67 (-5) in the second round. She finished tied for 57th (219, +3).

MELBOURNE, Fla. — Senior Hailey Borja posted a top-10 individual finish for the second-straight event and fourth time this season, helping to lead the 33rd-ranked University of Michigan women’s golf team to an 855 (-9) team total and tie for seventh place at the 2023 Moon Golf Invitational played at the Suntree Country Club’s Classic Course.

“Overall, this event at Suntree was a great experience for our team,” said U-M head coach Jan Dowling. “The wind changed direction every day, so making adjustments was super important. Our second round was very special, and our lowest of the season. We’ve been preaching patience and for us to go seven-under on the last hole was a testament to that patience and belief. That round shows evidence of what we are capable of. Today in the final round, we had plenty of positives, and will continue to learn and improve as our season progresses.”

In yet another loaded field featuring 13 of the GolfStat top 50 teams, the Wolverines opened Sunday’s (Feb. 19) play with a 286 (-2) team total as junior Monet Chun paced the round with her 70 (-2), while Borja and fellow-senior Anika Dy each carded 71s (-1).
