Women's Golf Geared for ICON Invitational

RALEIGH – The NC State women’s golf team returns to action this week as the Pack is set to begin the second leg of its spring slate on Monday at the ICON Invitational. Hosted by Houston, the tournament will take place at the Golf Club of Houston in Humble, Texas.
The Wolfpack look to continue its solid play from the opening tournament of the spring schedule, as NC State posted its best finish of the season so far at the Collegiate Invitational at the Country Club of Guadalajara Feb. 5-6. The Pack’s fifth-place finish was highlighted by a trio of top-20 finishes from Natalie Armbruester, Lauren Olivares Leon, and Vania Simont.
Play on both Monday and Tuesday is slated to begin with a 9 a.m. shotgun start, with 36 holes set to be played on Monday and the final round of play will take place on Tuesday. 16 teams will participate in the tournament, 12 of which are currently listed in GolfStat’s most recent top-50 ranking.
NC State will be bringing five players to compete in the tournament, Armbruester, Simont, and Olivares Leon all competing once again in addition to Isabel Amezcua and Inja Fric.
