Habgood ends the second round of the Silverado Showdown tied for 15th


NAPA, Calif. – Washington State women’s golf fifth-year senior Darcy Habgood finished the second day of the 2023 Chevron Silverado Showdown inside the top-15 on the player leaderboard, as she shot a team-best 1-over 73 to finish the day tied for 15th.

Habgood added two birdies and shot even par on 13 holes in the tournament’s second round to end her day at 1-over 73. The Nambucca Heads, Australia native has collected the third-most pars through 36 holes of play at the Silverado Showdown, as Habgood carded even par on 27 holes. The fifth-year senior heads into Wednesday’s final round tied for 15th on the player leaderboard with a two-round score of 147 (+3).

Washington State ended the second round of the Silverado Showdown in 13th place on the team leaderboard. WSU shot 9-over 307 for the second-straight round at the Silverado Resort, as the Cougars head into the tournament’s third round at 18-over 614. Washington State heads into the tournament’s third round just one stroke behind Washington and three strokes behind No. 22 Arizona.

Freshman Lily McCauley shaved two strokes off her overall score in the second round, as the Olympia, Washington native carded 4-over 76. The freshman collected a team-best three birdies in the second round and heads into Wednesday’s third round tied for 46th with a score of 10-over 154.

No. 16 ranked Northwestern sits in the pole position on the team leaderboard through two rounds of play at the 2023 Chevron Silverado Showdown. The Wildcats have carded 4-under 572 through 36 holes of play and take a 16-stroke lead into Wednesday’s third round. UCLA’s Zoe Campos leads the field with a two-round score of 4-under 140.
