Campos Goes Back-to-Back; Wins Pac-12 Golfer of the Week

SAN FRANCISCO – UCLA sophomore Zoe Antoinette has received Pac-12 Women’s Golfer of the Week accolades for the second week in a row, the conference office announced Tuesday afternoon.

Campos has now secured two weekly Pac-12 honors in her career.

The Valencia, Calif. native won her second medal in back-to-back tournaments at the Silverado Showdown at Silverado Resort on Wednesday, April 5, with a score of 5-under (67-73-71). Campos finished three strokes ahead of Dianna Lee (Northwestern), Hailee Cooper (Texas A&M) and Catherine Park (Oregon), who finished in a three-way tie for runner-up.

She is the first Bruin since 2018-19 to win multiple medals in a single season since 2018-19 when UCLA’s trio of Patty Tavatanakit (three wins), Mariel Galdiano (two wins) and Beth Wu (two wins) achieved the feat.

Campos pulled ahead in round three of the Silverado Showdown just before the turn onto the back nine when she birdied the par-4 eighth and par-5 ninth holes to take a two-stroke lead over Texas A&M’s Cooper.

Campos, who was named to the ANNIKA Award Watch List last month, has now finished under par in five of her last six rounds with a 69.2 scoring average across that stretch.

On the season, Campos leads UCLA with a 71.6 scoring average, nine under-par rounds and is tied with Caroline Canales for six top-10 finishes. Campos has finished outside the top 20 only once, coming in a t-21st result at the Vystar Credit Union Gator Invitational on March 5.

She is 5-under par across her nine tournaments and 22 rounds of golf this season.

Campos and the Bruins open postseason competition next week at the Pac-12 Championships in Tempe, Ariz., taking place from April 17-19.
