Steinlechner Named to PING All-Region Team

Norman, Okla. – NC State senior men’s golfer Maximilian Steinlechner was named a Division I PING All-East Region team selection as announced by the Golf Coaches Association of American on Saturday.

Steinlechner finished the 2022-23 season with a 70.97 season stroke average which led the team and was the eighth-best stroke average in a single season in program history. The Innsbruck, Austria native played 21 of 32 rounds at even or below par and finished with seven top-10 finishes in 11 events.

Four times Steinlechner finished in the top-five, including a tie for medalist honors at the Folds of Honor Collegiate last September.

The recent NC State graduate also finished in second place at the Wolfpack Intercollegiate last October and in his final collegiate event, finished in a tie for second place at the NCAA Regional held in Morgan Hill, Calif.

Steinlechner’s second place finish is the best for an NC State golfer at an NCAA Regional since 2012 when Albin Choi won the Ann Arbor Regional.

The All-Region nod was the third of Steinlechner’s collegiate career with the Pack.
