Thorbjornsen Earns All-America Nod - Stanford University Athletics

NORMAN, Okla. – For the second consecutive season, Michael Thorbjornsen of the Stanford men’s golf team has been named an All-American. After a second team nod a year ago, the junior from Wellesley, Massachusetts was a PING first team honoree this season.

Thorbjornsen was the Pac-12 Golfer of the Year, leading the program to the conference championship for the first time since 2019. He was a first team All-Pac-12 honoree for the second straight year, and won two Pac-12 Golfer of the Month awards this season. He was also a finalist for the Ben Hogan Award.

One of the top ranked players in the country, Thorbjornsen led the Pac-12 with a 69.26 scoring average, which ranked sixth nationally. That scoring average is the second-best in program history, trailing only Maverick McNealy’s 69.05 average in 2014-15 for a single season. It also ranks as the eighth-best mark in Pac-12 history.

Thorbjornsen is the first back-to-back All-America since McNealy accomplished the feat in three straight years from 2015-17.
