Badgers tied for ninth after first round of Visit Knoxville Collegiate


LOUDON, Tenn. — After one round of play at the Visit Knoxville Collegiate, Wisconsin men’s golf is tied for ninth place at 11-over par.

Coalter Smith leads UW going into the second round at even par, while Cameron Huss trails closely at one-over par. 

Friday, September 8

Round 1

The Badgers started the Visit Knoxville Collegiate by shooting a 291 (+11) to tie for ninth with South Florida.

Smith led Wisconsin, making par in the first round with three birdies. Huss followed, shooting a one-over 71. Jacob Beckman and Blake Wisdom each carded a five-over 75, while Spencer Turtz shot a 12-over 82. 

Competiting individually, McCord Grice tallied a seven-over 77 with three birdies.
