Virginia Men's Golf | UVA Heads to Chicago for Highlands Invitational

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The No. 16 Virginia men’s golf team competes in its second tournament of the season this week at the Highlands Invitational at the Chicago Highlands Club in Westchester, Ill. The event is scheduled for Monday and Tuesday with 36 holes of play on the opening day and a single round on the second day. The tournament is hosted by Wake Forest.

The field for the event includes College of Charleston, Duke, Furman, Houston, Indiana, Maryland, Michigan, Missouri, Penn State, Rutgers, Wake Forest (A&B) and Yale.

UVA will field a lineup that includes Paul Chang, Chris Fosdick, Ben James, Bryan Lee and Deven Patel.

Lee led the Cavaliers with an eighth-place finish at the team’s season opening Texas Valero Collegiate. Chang was 10th at the event in his collegiate debut and Patel was 16th. James, the 2023 national freshman of the year, did not play in the tournament after helping the USGA 10-man team win the Walker Cup at the Old Course in St. Andrews, Scotland earlier in August.

Virginia is paired with Iowa and Houston during the first day of play. Those teams will start their first round at 7:20 a.m. CT from the 10th tee. Live scoring of the event is on Golfstat.com.
