Donald Trump says LIV Golf is heading to one of his courses in April

Former president Donald Trump posted Friday morning on his social media site that LIV Golf is returning to Doral in April.

When the tour originally released its 2024 schedule, there were no Trump golf properites in the lineup, unlike this past season when LIV played at three of his venues in the U.S.

“TRUMP NATIONAL DORAL, in Miami, has just signed with LIV GOLF to host a Championship Tournament in April, 2024. The event they had at Doral in October was a major success!” Trump posted Friday morning.

The April 5-7 dates are still listed as LIV Golf USA with “to be announced” on the tour’s website. That weekend is just prior to the 2024 Masters.

“We can confirm that LIV Golf will be returning to Doral in Miami for 2024,” a LIV Golf spokesperson later confirmed to Golfweek. “We look forward to announcing the rest of the schedule and additional details in the very near future.”

For the second straight year, the LIV season opens at El Camaleon Golf Course in Mayakoba, Mexico. That event will be Feb. 2-4, 2024.

The first tournament in the United States will be held the same weekend as the Super Bowl, at the Las Vegas Country Club just off the Strip, where the NFL championship game will be played on Feb. 11.

LIV’s 54-hole events typically run Friday-Sunday but the 2024 event will have a Saturday finish.

Other U.S. sites for LIV in 2024 included Houston (June 7-9), Nashville (June 21-23) and Greenbrier in West Virginia (Aug. 16-18).
