Miami Ascends Two Spots on Day Two of UCF Challenge – University of Miami Athletics

ORLANDO, Fla. – The University of Miami golf team moved up two spots on day two of the UCF Challenge, shooting eight-under-par in the second round (280) at the Eagle Creek Golf Club.

Miami’s eight-under second-round score tied leader North Carolina for the best team round of the day.

Sophomore Olivia Grønborg was Miami’s biggest mover on the day, ascending 18 spots thanks to a second-round score of 69 (-3). Grønborg, along with freshman Aada Rissanen, sit tied for 14th overall with a 36-hole score of 142 (-2).

Fourth-year junior Sara Byrne leads the Hurricanes through two rounds, shooting a 70 for the second day in a row to enter the final round of play tied for eighth at four-under-par (140).

Freshman Rebekah Gardner checks in tied for 22nd at one-under-par (143), while freshman Barbora Bujáková is tied for 31st at one-over-par (145).

Competing as an individual, freshman Sophie Bierstorfer shot three-over-par (75) in the second round to sit tied for 57th (+5) heading into the final day.

The Hurricanes sit eight strokes behind leader North Carolina (559) but hold a four-stroke advantage over third-place College of Charleston (571).

Miami will close out play at the UCF Challenge on Monday, Feb. 5 with an 8:30 a.m. tee time.
