Men’s Golf Travels to Puerto Rico to Kick Off 2024 Spring Season

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico – Rutgers men’s golf takes its first trip of the season to play in the Palmas Del Mar Collegiate tournament hosted by University of North Carolina Greensboro.

The three-day event starting Sunday February 11th will field 16 teams. They include host UNCG, Arkansas, Boston College, Bucknell, Connecticut, Drexel, Elon, High Point, Kennesaw State, Mercer, Michigan, Samford, Temple, Virginia Tech, and Wofford.

In a season where they are hoping to make the national tournament for the first time in 20 years, the Scarlet Knights have a chance to do some damage early. Rutgers will face six teams ranked in the top 100.

The event takes place at the Palmas Del Mar Country Club. They will be playing on the Flamboyán Course, a par 72 spanning 7122 yards. This is the first time they will play at this course.

Men’s golf is coming off a successful fall where they finished in the top-ten for every event. Luke Wells had the highest finish for the Scarlet Knights in the Highlands Invitational, where he had a score of 207 (-5). Rhett Sellers also had an impressive showing in the Quail Valley Collegiate. He shot 8-under par in that event.

Rutgers will travel to Savannah, Ga. for the Invitational at the Ford, a two-day tournament on Monday February 26th
