Final Day of Juli Inkster at Meadow Club Invite Cut Short Due to Weather


FAIRFAX, Calif. (March 5, 2024) – Washington State women’s golf will finish in 12th place after 36 official holes of the Juli Inkster at Meadow Club Invite after shooting an 18-over, 594 on the par-72, 6,157-yard Meadow Club Golf Course.

After completing the first 36 holes of the event on Monday, golfers attempted to finish the final day of the event on Tuesday, but due to heavy rain and poor playing conditions, the final round was canceled. Scores are final at where they stood after the completion of yesterday’s round 2.

Day 1 Recap

Individually, junior Madelyn Gamble led the women and is tied for eighth after a two-round score of 2-under, 142. She parred 16 holes in round one, including a birdie on the ninth hole, and a bogey on hole two.

In round two, Gamble birdied her second hole of the day to quickly start at 1-under. As the round went on she found herself even entering her final three holes of the round, but birdied two of her final three holes to finish 2 under.

Freshman Alice Johansson shot a 5-over 77 in round one, but finished strong in round two with a 1-over 73 to wrap up day one at 6-over, 150, tied for 48th. He round one 5-over score came on five bogeys while parring the other 13 holes. In round two, she bogeyed her first hole of the day and then birdied her third to sit even nearly all round until a bogey on her last hole put her at 6-over for the day.

Sophomore Hannah Harrison is tied for 53rd with a 36-hole score of 7-over 151. She struggled to find consistency all day, scattering three birdies, four bogeys and a double bogey in round one, and two birdies, four bogeys and a double bogey in round two.

Junior Sarah Skovgaard-Bils was 2-over after her round-one score of 74, and finished the day tied for 55th after a 6-over, 78 performance in round two. After three bogeys had her sitting 3-under with one hole to go, she birdied that final hole for a 2-over round one. In round two, she tallied four bogeys and a double bogey to counter her 13 parred holes and finish the day at 6-over.

Junior Emily Cadwell shot a 5-over, 77 in both rounds, wrapping up day one at 10-over, 154. She had nearly identical performances in each round, with 13 parred holes and five bogeys in each her first and second round.
