No. 8 USC Women's Golf Finishes Third at Juli Inkster After Day Two Suspends Play

FAIRFAX, Calif. – After suspending play in day two at the Juli Inkster at Meadow Club Invitation No. 8 USC women’s golf finished in third place. Sophomore Catherine Park led the Trojans as she was fourth in the field at three under par after round two was  Monday, Mar. 4, at the Meadow Club. 
 
The Trojans finish seven strokes back of the lead (Stanford) at six-under-par, in their second stroke play tournament of the spring season. 
 
Park posted the lowest score in the second round for USC, as she posted a 69 (-3) after getting a 70 (-2) in the first round. The sophomore finished three shots back of the lead. 
 
Junior Amari Avery carried the second-place slot for the Trojans in a tie for eighth, as she did a combination of back-to-back 71s (-1). In the second round, she had a lot of ups and downs, as she had six birdies, three bogeys, and one double-bogey. 
 
Freshman Bailey Shoemaker and senior Brianna Navarrosa finished in a tie for 20th. Shoemaker carried USC in round one with a 69 (-3) but fell back in the second round with a three-over-par outing. Navarrosa was a different story by posting an Even round in round one and a one-over-par round two. 
 
Rounding out of the group was senior Christine Wang, as she was tied for 27th in the field. Wang posted a combo 71-76 first two rounds, as she is three-over-par for the tournament.
