Unusual, Remarkable, Artistic, and Unique are descriptions that have been used to describe the golf courses designed by the late Mike Strantz. Tot Hill Farm in Asheboro, North Carolina, is one such example. Beginning in 2022 with its restoration, Tot Hill has rejoined the brief list of can’t-miss Mike Stranz designs.

Playing Tot Hill is a mixture of various wows while walking on eggshells. Strantz clearly wasn’t interested in easy golf. Much like Tobacco Road just more than an hour’s drive away, Tot Hill Farm is all about strategy. And that might begin even before the first tee shot as each drive and approach must be clearly planned to avoid the frustrations of Tot Hill Farm’s difficulties This might be one of the best match-play courses in the U.S. and is the perfect venue for the 2024 Golfweek Senior National Match Play.

How it Works:

The Match-Play Championship consists of four separate divisions, senior, super-senior, legends, and super legends. Over the course of three days, players will be whittled down leaving one final champion in each division.

The Golfweek Senior National Match Play is not a one loss and done tournament. As players are defeated in match-play, they enter a consolation stroke-play tournament using Stableford scoring where both a pay-out and national ranking points are also awarded.
