Gators Own 11-Shot Lead, Turner Tied for First at Calusa Cup

Behind the Orange and Blue is Purdue at +4 followed by Wake Forest at +9.

The Gators will play for its sixth team tournament title of the season tomorrow and look for back-to-back seasons of six victories for the first time since the 1973-74 & 1974-75 seasons. Florida tees off the final round at Calusa Pines Golf Club at 8:45 a.m. to wrap up the regular season finale. 

Three are in the top-6 led by Turner tied for first at 5-under. The freshman had back-to-back rounds of under par with a second round of 70 (-2). Out of his 16 rounds this season, 12 of them have been for par or better. He leads in par3 scoring with a mark of 3.85 (-3) and will look for his first collegiate win tomorrow. 

Parker Bell carded the lowest round of the tournament with a 68 (-4) today and is in 5th. He made his fourth eagle of the season and went 4-under on the front nine. The sophomore is tied second in the field with nine birdies. Bell cut six shots off his round one score and is 2-under overall.

A stroke back at 1-under is Tyler Wilkes in T6. He had a round two score of 74 (+2) along with Matthew Kress, who is tied for 12th with Luke Poulter. Playing as individual this event, Poulter had second round of 72 (E) that ended with an eagle on 18 (par5, 548).  

Rounding out the lineup is Ian Gilligan tied for 25th.

Following the Calusa Cup, Florida preps for the SEC Championship from April 24-28 at Sea Island GC in St. Simonds, Ga.
