Lady Vols Shoot Third-Best Team Score of Day Two at SEC Championship


BELLEAIR, Fla. – Tennessee women’s golf turned in the third-best team score of round two at the SEC Championship on Saturday, shooting 2-over (282). 

Junior Bailey Davis paced the Lady Vols with a 1-under (69), capped off with a birdie on hole 18 which only saw three other birdies on the day. 

After beginning the day in 13th place, Tennessee shot up three spots to 10th and are four strokes off the quarterfinal cutoff heading into the final round of stroke play on Sunday at Pelican Golf Club. 

Manassanan Chotikabhukkana, Angela Arora and Martina Lopez-Lanchares each shot 1-over (71) on the day. The Lady Vols doubled their birdie output on Saturday, converting 14 birdies after just seven on Friday.

Tennessee is one of four schools with all five competitors in the top 45. The SEC Tournament marks the 11th straight tournament where the Lady Vols improved on their first round score, shooting 18 strokes better on Saturday in Belleair.
