Women’s Golf Moves Up to Sixth in WGCA National Rankings

DURHAM In the latest Women’s Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) Coaches Poll, Duke women’s golf came in at No. 6, which is the highest ranking of the 2023-24 campaign.

On the season, Duke features two victories and one other top-five finish to go along with a runner-up placement at the Old Barnwell Match Play.  The Blue Devils have collected two of the lowest rounds in program history by carding a 24-under, 264, at the Florida State Match Up and 17-under, 271, at the Landfall Tradition.  Five different Blue Devils have shot 68 or better in round this season.

Since the 1999-2000 campaign, the Blue Devils have been ranked in the top-10 of the national polls at one point every year under the direction of head coach Dan Brooks, who is in his 40th season at Duke.

Stanford holds the top slot, while South Carolina, UCLA, Wake Forest, LSU, Duke, Arkansas, Southern California, Auburn and Northwestern round out the top 10 teams.

Duke also boasts five golfers ranked in the top-115 of the Scoreboard individual rankings – Emma McMyler (50), Katie Li (62), Anne Chen (91), Phoebe Brinker (93) and Andie Smith (115).
