10 noteworthy players who advanced through qualifying for the 79th U.S. Women's Open

As the 79th U.S. Women’s Open draws near, a number of noteworthy players have conquered the 36-hole qualifying gauntlet. A total of 23 sites across the U.S. and three international qualifiers were held from April 15 to May 20.

The field of 156 will compete May 30 to June 2 at Lancaster Country Club in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. It will be the second time the club has hosted the championship.

Birdie Kim was the last player to win the U.S. Women’s Open after advancing through qualifying in 2005. Last year at Pebble Beach Golf Links, 18 qualifiers made the 36-hole cut.
