Lucas Herbert What’s In The Bag?

Australian Lucas Herbert has been rising in the world rankings over the past couple of years thanks to some stellar golf. He has had two big victories on the European Tour, one in 2020 and one in 2021. He also won on the PGA Tour in 2021 at the Bermuda Championship. What clubs does he use out on Tour? Let’s take a look.

Herbert plays a full set of TaylorMade clubs right now starting with a new Stealth Plus driver (opens in new tab) with nine degrees of loft. Herbert is one of many Tour professionals who have put the new driver in the bag, including Tiger Woods (opens in new tab), Collin Morikawa (opens in new tab) and Rory McIlroy (opens in new tab). It also produced brilliant results during our testing. It created impressive ball speeds and plenty of distance, whilst also looking outstanding. The compact profile will suit the better player which explains why so many Tour professionals have put it in the bag.

He then chooses to use the Stealth Plus model as his three-wood and five-wood as well. We believe they have 15 and 19 degrees of loft respectively. The new model is designed for Tour players and proficient ball-strikers because the overall footprint of the club is quite small, especially when compared with the regular Stealth model. There is no red face here unlike the driver but we thought the re-engineered 80g soleplate was a nice touch and improved turf interaction.

He also decides to carry a TaylorMade Stealth Plus Rescue as well with 22 degrees of loft. If we had to guess, this club will come in and out of the setup depending on the golf course, as well as the conditions.
