Illini Set to Host Women's Invitational at Medinah


CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – The Illinois women’s golf takes the short trip north to host the Illini Women’s Invitational at Medinah. The two-day tournament is played at historic Medinah Country Club in Medinah, Ill., on Monday Oct. 10 and Tuesday Oct. 11.

THE SETTING

The Illini Women’s Invitational at Medinah is held at Medinah Country Club and will be played on Course No. 2. The course was designed by Tom Bendelow and officially opened in 1925. The course will be set up for a par 72 and will play 6,166 yards long.  

TOURNAMENT FORMAT

There will be 15 teams competing in the 54-hole tournament. Monday has a shotgun start at 8:30 CT and Tuesday will have a shotgun start at 9:00 a.m. CT.

THE FIELD

Along with the Illini, the 15-team field for the Women’s Invitational at Medinah will include Alabama, Auburn, East Tennessee State, Georgia, Kentucky, Northwesterm, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Oregon State, Purdue, San Jose State, Tennessee, TCU and Texas Tech.

ILLINI AT THE WOMEN’S INVITATIONAL AT MEDINAH

This will be the fourth time that Illinois has hosted the Illini Women’s Invitational at Medinah. The Illini finished tied for sixth in last season’s tournament and third in both 2018 and 2019.

Live scoring for the Illini Women’s Invitational at Medinah will be available on Golfstat.com. A Recap and results will be posted on FightingIllini.com following each day of play.

UP NEXT

The Illini will next head to West Point, Miss., for The Ally, hosted by Mississippi State, at Old Waverly Golf Club on Oct. 17-18.
