Alabama Women’s Golf Concludes Second Round Action at Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic


ATHENS, Ga. – Alabama finished the second round of play at the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic Saturday and is in 12th position overall with a two-round total of 599 (294-305). The Crimson Tide’s Benedetta Moresco continues to lead the team in a tie for 18th overall entering Sunday’s final round of play.

Moresco lead the team with a 36-hole total of 2-over par 146 (71-75) and has carded the best round in each of the Tide’s first two days of play.

The event will conclude with 18 holes Sunday on the par 72, 6,327-yard University of Georgia Golf Course in Athens, Ga

Round Two Highlights

  • Benedetta Moresco leads the Tide in par 4 scoring (+1, 4.05) and birdies (8)
  • Kynadie Adams is in a tie for 42nd position after carding a 36-hole score of 150 (72-78)
  • Three UA golfers are all tied for 58th with identical scores of 9-over 153 in Emilie Øverås (75-78), Isabella van der Biest (76-77) and Taylor Kehoe (78-75)
  • Adams is tied for second in par 5 scoring (-4, 4.50), while van der Biest tops UA in par 3 scoring (+1, 3.13) and Øverås is the team-leader in total pars (26)

Tournament Highlights

  • No. 10 Auburn (-12) continues to lead the 15-team field which includes 10 teams ranked inside the Golfstat.com top 50
  • No. 4 South Carolina (-2) is in second and joins the Tigers as the only teams under par
  • No. 21 Florida (+5), Purdue (+7) and North Carolina (+7) rounds out the top-five teams

  • Alabama will begin the final round of play Saturday morning at 7:30 a.m. CT on holes Nos. 10-13
